When we reviewed the Hisense H9F last year, we gave it a high score for bringing the best color and bright performance at the right price. With the new 65H9G ($ 999.99), Hisense offers a number of enhancements, including additional local blurring and Far-field microphones for voice-free control. Most importantly, H9G performed well in our tests, delivering outstanding image quality, impressive six-priced HDR rating, and precise colors. Design and Features:
Like last year's H9F, the H9G is a good looking TV. It has no three-dimensional bezel, has a small chrome slide that separates the glass from the edge, and plays a slightly silver bezel at the bottom. Just below the Hisense badge in the center of the bezel below is a remote control sensor, a remote operating microphone, and an on / off microphone. There are also 10 watt ground-shot speakers provided by Dolby Atmos audio technology
The 52-pound 65H9G is supported by triangular steel legs and has four VESA holes around the back for mounting. Other back-facing, externally, there are composite (RCA) video and audio ports, digital audio output, and a LAN port. To the left are three HDMI ports, two USB ports, a headphone jack, and a coaxial cable jack. The power jack sits alone to the right of the back panel. In addition to wired network connectivity, H9G offers wireless connectivity via dual-band dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

The H9G comes with the same busy remote control as the slightly lower 65H8G. It is an 8-inch wand with 39 buttons and a four-dimensional arrow controller, and offers a standard 0-9 number pad, volume buttons and up / down buttons, menu button, and video control buttons. It also provided buttons for Google Play, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, as well as a voice control button for Goggle Assistant. None of them are backed up, however, which makes it difficult to find the right button in the dark. Alternatively, you can also control the TV using the Android TV remote application on your phone.
H9G is an Android TV and as a result offers a wealth of live streaming apps, news and sports channels, entertainment channels, games, and more. Video streaming apps include Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, You Tube, Google Play Video, Fandango NOW, Tubi, 4K Now, and HBOMAX. You can also add Disney +, Hulu, Pandora, Pluto TV, and many more lifestyle, sports, and music and sports programs using the Google Play app store.
Like the 65H9F, the H9G features a built-in Chromecast that lets you stream video, music, and photos directly from your mobile device to a TV. It also supports Google Assistant voice commands, but while H9F needed remote control to use Google voice commands, H9G allows you to use its remote microphones to access voice service without the need for a remote control. For example, you could simply say, "Ok Google, shut up TV," when a sale appears.
Additionally, the H9G has a sub-screen mode that allows you to use the TV to control other Google Assistant smart home devices such as lights and thermostats, even when the TV is off. H9G can also be connected to your Amazon Alexa account and will respond to certain Alexa voice commands.

Performance:
65H9G is a Quantum Dot TV with 4K resolution (3,840 by 2,160 pixels). Like the H8G and H9F models, it uses Hisense ULED technology, but H9G is experiencing significant improvements with 180-dimensional blurring areas compared to the 132-enabled H9F and 90-dimensional H8G. It has a native 120Hz panel and offers a maximum frequency of 480Hz, and supports high frequency (HDR) bandwidth in Dolby Vision and HDR10.
How We Test TVs:
We tested the 65H8G set using the Klein K-80 colorimeter, Murideo SIX-G signal generator, and Portrait Display's Calman software. In our SDR comparative tests, H9G delivered 473,757cd / m ^ 2 high brightness readings using 100 percent white field and 1146.921 high readings using 18 percent white field use. By reading a very dark level of 0.013cd / m ^ 2, that applies to the 88,224: 1 maximum variability. That is much higher than what we have seen with H9F (31,876: 1) and TCL 65R625 (20,486: 1). In the HDR theater mode, the H9G local dimension really shines: It rated a maximum brightness of 1492.606cd / m ^ 2 at a dark level of 0.012cd / m ^ 2, resulting in an excellent contrast ratio of 124,383: 1. That’s not as high as the Samsung Q90R (151,080: 1), but it’s still very impressive under $ 1,000.

The color accuracy is very good outside the box, as can be seen in the chart above. With the SDR signal, red, green, and blue are all on the boundary of their direct CIE colors in the Rec.709 color space, and the cyan is clear. Both the yellow and the magenta tends to drift toward red, but they are also not far from their intended links. You can tighten things up with balance, but the difference will not be noticeable. In HDR mode, red and blue are very close to its ideal saturation areas in the DCI-P3 color space. The green is not slightly saturated, but it is not enough to affect the overall color quality, and the second colors are the target.
Meeting Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War in 4K on this TV was like watching it for the first time. The image quality was excellent, with bright colors, bright colors and excellent detail of the image. The details of the shadow were equally impressive, especially in the squares that took place in Vormir, a desolate black planet that is home to the Stone of the Soul.

Input Lag
Set in the Theater Day mode, H9G produced 104.5ms input lag (the time it takes for the screen to restart), which is very high for gaming purposes. However, when set to Gaming mode, the input lag arrives at 16.4ms, which is less than the 20ms limit we recommend for casual games.
Conclusions:
There is a lot to like about Hisense 65H9G. For less than $ 1,000, you get a 65-inch Quantum Dot TV opener that delivers great color, sharp 4K video, and uses 180-dimensional blurring areas to produce a bright image with a beautiful black level. In addition, it offers a wealth of Android live streaming applications and uses a built-in voice-activated microphone microphone not only for TV, but also for any other Google Assistant home devices.
